The 12 values, defined

The OPC Model classifies a current operating state across three dimensions, each with four values. Every classification is one value from each dimension. The model's design principles are on the Research page.

Operator Type

How you currently engage with work. A current mode, not a fixed type.

Builder

A Builder is one of the four Operator Types in the OPC Model: someone whose current default engagement with work is creation, initiation, and forward momentum.

Explorer

An Explorer is one of the four Operator Types in the OPC Model: someone whose current default engagement with work is inquiry, reframing, and directional search.

Stabilizer

A Stabilizer is one of the four Operator Types in the OPC Model: someone whose current default engagement with work is creating order, consistency, and conditions for reliable progress.

Sustainer

A Sustainer is one of the four Operator Types in the OPC Model: someone whose current default engagement with work is execution, responsibility, and carrying load.

Phase

The nature of your current situation. The most transient of the three dimensions.

Expansion

Expansion is one of the four Phases in the OPC Model: a situational context in which things are growing or opening up and the characteristic pressure is managing more than existing structures were designed to handle.

Compression

Compression is one of the four Phases in the OPC Model: a situational context in which pressure, demands, and responsibility are stacking faster than clarity or capacity can absorb.

Transition

Transition is one of the four Phases in the OPC Model: a situational context in which the old direction is weakening, the new one is not yet established, and the primary pressure is directional rather than volumetric.

Plateau

Plateau is one of the four Phases in the OPC Model: a situational context of functional adequacy combined with arrested momentum, in which nothing is failing but something important is no longer moving.

Primary Constraint

What is most in the way right now. The most directly actionable dimension.

Clarity

Clarity is one of the four Primary Constraints in the OPC Model: the main bottleneck is the quality of the directional signal, not capacity or effort.

Focus

Focus is one of the four Primary Constraints in the OPC Model: the main bottleneck is fragmentation, with too many active inputs and competing priorities relative to capacity.

Leverage

Leverage is one of the four Primary Constraints in the OPC Model: the main bottleneck is the rate at which effort converts into useful output, progress, or advantage.

Execution

Execution is one of the four Primary Constraints in the OPC Model: the main bottleneck is converting intention into consistent, completed action.
