Sustainer

ThroughputDeliveryLoad

A Sustainer is one of the four Operator Types in the OPC Model: someone whose current default engagement with work is execution, responsibility, and carrying load.

Executes, carries responsibility, keeps many moving parts running. Strong bias toward throughput, delivery, and handling load. The default response is to absorb and process.

Sustainer describes a current engagement mode, not a fixed type. It marks a period in which delivery against commitments is the dominant response to whatever arrives.

The characteristic risk of the Sustainer mode is absorbing demand instead of restructuring it. Capacity becomes the answer to every problem until capacity runs out.
